This eLearning portal is a partnership between Savannah State University and the MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching) organization. It represents SSU's commitment to promoting student success by providing affordable educational alternatives to traditional textbooks and quality digital learning materials for learning and online teaching.
Savannah State University is committed to fostering educational equity and promoting student success every day by providing students, faculty, and staff with access to free and low-cost educational materials. Since 2013, SSU has saved Tigers thousands of dollars by replacing traditionally published textbooks with high-quality, affordable, and open-source Open Educational Resources (OER) materials in our courses. SSU quickly became one of Georgia's top adopters of affordable learning through our partnership with Affordable Learning Georgia, a University System of Georgia initiative that focuses on reducing student textbook costs through use of OERs.
In 2025, Savannah State joined HCBU Affordable Learning Solutions, a MERLOT partner service. On this site, you will find a wealth of free open educational resources (OER) such as eTextbooks for students, faculty, and staff in one convenient location on the web.
